Top 10 Gas Saving Tips

With gas predicted to rise by the end of the summer saving money on gas will really pay off.
Check your air filter and get a tune-up.
A clean air filter is one of the easiest, least expensive ways to increase fuel economy. The FTC cites a 10% increase in gas mileage. Tune-ups help significantly as well!
Avoid accelerating on hills.
Most experts note that you'll waste less fuel if you speed up before you get to the hill, rather than waiting until you're halfway up to step on the gas.
Use the recommended octane gasoline level as stated in your car's manual.
Very few cars really need a higher octane gas to prevent pinging and knocking. Adding a higher octane gas than your car needs does not improve performance and merely taxes extra money out of your wallet.

Check for properly inflated tires.
Properly aligned and inflated tires help save drag, which in turns help save gas.

Drive more evenly, avoiding sudden starts and stops.
Starting and stopping uses more gas than driving more evenly and at a slower speed.

Do not warm up your car in advance of a drive.
Most cars built in the last decade do not require a warm-up before driving. Just hop in and go!

When on the highway, drive at 55.
Avoid weaving in and out of lanes at high speeds, this wastes fuel and lessens your gas mileage due to sudden and full acceleration.

Empty the trunk of your car.
Every 100 pounds you take out of the trunk can give you back 2% of your gas mileage. Add equipment, tires and the junk most folks have in the back of their car and you're talking real savings!

Check the seal on your gas cap.
A loose or badly secured gas cap can cause fuel evaporation.

Skip the 'gas-saving' products.
The Federal Trade Commission says no so-called 'gas saving' product it has ever tested has produced any real fuel savings. Most such products insist on a tune-up at the time of use, which is usually what provides any savings.

ALSO PEOPLE WITH FUEL INJECTION SHOULD BE USING

AN ACCELERATION BOTTLE IN THIER GAS TANK.

FUEL INJECTORS CAN BECOME CLOGGED AND CAUSING LAG

IN ACCELERATION. I KNOW SSOME NAME BRANDS BUT IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN NAME BRANDS PM ME IN HERE.
IM NOT SURE IF WE ARE ALLOWED TO MENTION NAME BRNADS.
